How do I best position my tactile and Braille signage?

It is essential that your tactile and Braille signs are accessible to touch and that they are positioned at a consistent height around your building. Generally, this type of signage should be positioned at a height of about 1400mm to 1700mm. However, consideration for signage for wheelchair users such as push button to open signs must be positioned much lower at about 1000mm to 1100mm.

Consistency of signage positions is very important:

  • Toilet door signs can be fitted directly to the doors.
  • Door signs in general should be fitted to the wall adjacent to the door latch. Signs fitted to doors which remain closed are okay, but when left open are useless.
  • Wayfinding signs should be fitted to walls, ideally in a position that is visible from connecting corridors.

What colours do you recommend for maximum contrast?

The signage needs to stand out clearly in any given environment, so contrasting colours to the surroundings are very important. Our most popular colour combination is white detail on navy blue background, but other colour combinations such as black on white, white on black etc. are also very common and effective.

Can you make bespoke signage to my very own specifications?

Of course, although our range of signs in our shop are very popular, the vast majority of work we manufacture is custom-made to your individual requirements and we have a plethora of options to choose from. Contact us today to discuss any requirements that you may have.

Do you offer a trade service? If so, are the rates discounted?

We do offer a trade service and have done so since 2007, building up a large portfolio of clients and projects. This is a service which is hugely beneficial to both parties and we offer substantially discounted rates to our trade clients as well as absolute discretion at all times.

What type of artwork files do you accept for manufacturing purposes?

For manufacturing purposes, we require vector format files such as AI, EPS, PLT and some PDF’s. Flat images such as JPG’s will need to be redrawn and then converted into vector ready artwork. This will incur a small artwork charge, but you can then keep this on file for future use.

Can you send to a third-party address under plain cover?

This is a service we provide regularly for our trade clients. We send all consignments under plain cover and can usually provide a proof of delivery (POD) within 24 hours of delivery.

How do I pay for my order?

If ordering online, you will need to pay by credit or debit card, which is done so securely through PayPal. For manual orders, new customers will usually be asked to pay for their job in advance before we commence with production. You can do so in the form of cash, cheque, bank transfer and credit or debit card payment, again which is done so securely through PayPal.
